Import and Scale a Picture

1. Choose a location for the picture you will import
When you click the Insert & Scale one Picture button on the InsertPicture toolbar, the Choose a Picture Location dialog displays. Choose either:
    a. On a New Slide. Adds a slide to the currently open presentation and places the picture onto the slide, or
    b. On a Slide in a New Presentation. Opens a new presentation and imports the picture into the new presentation.
Click the Next button to continue.

2. Choose a picture
The Choose a Picture file browser displays. Select a picture file and then click the Insert button.

3. Resize
Drag the slider in the Resize Slider dialog to make the imported picture smaller by the percentage indicated. If you want the pictures to be maximimzed, just click the Done button and they will scale to 100% (the default).

4. Select an Entry Effect
If you want to add an entry effect to the imported picture, choose one from any tab in the Entry Animations dialog. Effects in blue highlights work in PowerPoint versions 97 through 2004 and are on the tabs further to the right. The default is to not add an entry animation - just click the Done button to bypass adding an entry effect.

Import and Scale a Folder's Pictures

1. Bulk Import Settings
When you click the Insert All Pictures From a Folder button on the InsertPicture toolbar, a new presentation opens and the Bulk Import Settings dialog displays. Choose any combination of settings, and then click the Get Pictures button to display the Choose a folder dialog. The Show File Name in Text Box on Slide option does not display the file names if you also chose to place all the pictures on one slide.

2. Choose a folder
In the Choose a Folder dialog, select the name of the folder that contains the pictures you wish to import, and then click the Choose button to display the Resize Slider dialog.

3. Resize
Drag the slider in the Resize Slider dialog to make the imported picture smaller by the percentage indicated. If you want the pictures to be maximimzed, just click the Done button and they will scale to 100% (the default).

4. Wait
The add-in takes anywhere from a moment to several minutes, depending upon the number and size of the pictures to be imported. You will know the importing is done when you see a picture on the screen. If all the files in the selected folder are pictures, then they will all be imported. The add-in loops through the files in the folder. If a non-picture file is encountered, all pictures are imported up to the non-picture file, but the remaining pictures will not be imported.

VB Editor

Click this button to display the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (vba) editor. The editor is also known as the VBE (Visual Basic Editor).

Action Settings

Select an object and then click this button to display the Action Settings dialog.

Shortcuts to Views

Buttons for each view are together for convenience.

Change slide to Blank slide layout

Click this button to change the slide's layout to Blank layout.

AutoShapes

These are the same shapes that you find on the Shapes tab of the Toolbox. You can drag the shape menus off thie AutoShapes toolbar and they don't take up nearly as much screen real estate as the Toolbox.

Pick up Style and Apply Style Buttons

Select an object and then click the Pick Up Style button. Select another object on the same slide or a different slide and then click the Apply Style button to apply the copied style to the selected object. I like the ability to click the Pick Up Style button, do some other things, and then later select an object and then click the Apply Style button. The picked up style is remembered until you click the Pick Up Style button for another object.

Play Slide Show Buttons

These buttons are together for convenience. I like having the Play Slideshow in its Own Window button handy for making screen recordings and it works really well with the Broadcast Presentation feature.

Toggle toolbar off and on

The toolbar's name is InsPic5. As with any toolbar you can toggle it off and on using the View menu. Use View > Toolbars > InsPic5. You can also choose View > Toolbars > Customize Menus and Toolbars and turn InsPic5 on and off in the Customize Menus and Toolbars dialog.
